Question: Please help: adenomyosis pain relief.? (Posted by: Catherine Y on 2008-11-10 04:31:45) I am 23 years old and was diagnosed with adenomyosis 3 years ago. I first had an ultrasound to look at my bulky uterus, and it was later confirmed whilst I was undergoing a laparoscopy for my endometriosis, when they took a biopsy of some tissue. I have never been pregnant or had any of the typical uterine traumas often thought to cause adenomyosis. I have pain all the time, and have been told by my gynaecologist to take the pill endlessly without having periods. However I find that I get pain still. He has put me on the strongest pill around and it has mainly stopped my spotting, but the pain will sometimes come with bowel movements, urinating, and randomly, and it comes consistently with sex and orgasm. (the latter being by far the worst culprit). I haven't been able to have sex with my partner in over 10 months and I cannot orgasm anymore as it results in extreme pain in which I can not move for approximately 2 hours. I can not take this pain much longer. It is hurting my relationship, it holds me away from work consistently.... I do not want to have a hysterectomy as I am only 23 and want to have kids one day. What can I do to get on with my life and not be in so much pain all the time? |

Posted by: Anita on 2008-11-10, 05:34:10 I am really sorry abt you, bcs i have the same problem... Not easy to deal... i advice you to take Cerazette as you are so young maybe you get better, make the flow every month less and less pain, just in my case the uterus got so big that i am already waiting for a surgery... Mirena on me didnt work, but some women is good, Cerazette or Implanon works sometimes...talk with your doctor... Don't give up and keep the faith, some women has these as you and me: Endometriois or Adenomyosis Search all information abt it in the net, as i did (Mail me if you want, bcs i have a long story of adenomyosis) Kisses |

Posted by: Juliana on 2008-11-10, 05:07:40 My mom has been on Lupron shots for a while. It helped with pain and side effects weren't too bad on her. You should go back to your doctor and keep trying different things. My mom is in her 40s and still refuses to get hysterectomy and she's not planning on kids. Good luck. |
