Is it good that your muscles ache?

Question: Is it good that your muscles ache?

I started working out about a week ago. And I've been using this arm machine were you lift the weight by pushing the bars above you. But after I started my arms just ached. And now I just struggle to lift them up one time after another in a row. So I'm wondering is it normal for my arms to ache? I go to the gym everyday. I first work out my legs, and my legs are never aching. Then I work out my abdomen muscles, that aches a little bit but I can still use the machine and easily tolerate the pain. But the arm machine I'm starting to struggle lifting the weights.

Maybe you started on a weight too heavy for your comfort too quickly. You should consult an expert trainer before lifting weights, one should start low and little by little increase the weight so as to avoid muscle tears or other injuries. Do consult a doctor however if the ache is persistent and is really causing discomfort on and off the gym.

It means that ur muscles are spilting and getting bigger.....just give it a rest every so often to give them time to recover when the muscle spilts it repairs and gets bigger.. i get sore arms all the time from water skiing for too long but after a bit it goes away

Be slow in your work out. Slow and steady wins the race, Increase your work out on weekly basis. Good luck.

You are fatigueing your muscles... relax and take a few steps back before you take those harder steps forward.

Yeah, its allpart of the normal process. When you lift heavy weights, the muscle tissue in your arm "break " or split apart (thats why it hurts) but they grow back bigger. Just give the tissue a chance to fix itself upnaturally and then go heavyer and break it again. Every time you break it it gets bigger. Hope it helps.
