Help for violent aches in joints when laying down?

Question: Help for violent aches in joints when laying down?

(Posted by: Pestis C on 2008-07-01 00:42:16)

When i lay down to sleep or lay down in general i get violent aches in my joints and I have to move them to be free of the pain for a few minutes then move again. the pain is at it's worst by Night time when I attempt to go to sleep. It's really starting to cause damage to my sleeping pattern which causes problems with my body in general from lack of sleep. So i really need help on this and figured i'd ask on here before going to a doctor incase it's a simple solution.

That sounds like restless leg syndrome. but I think that is just in the legs. I feel like you describe but I have Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid arthritis. I don't know which one causes me to feel like that. My specialist gave me a little pill that I can take at night it helps to sleep and it helps the pain but I usually just take Tylenjol PM that does good for me. I think the pill the dr. gave me is Flexerill? I know trouble sleeping makes the Fibromyalgia worse so its a vicious cycle, it makes sleep hard and lack of sleep makes it worse. So , I take the medicine.

It's not simple. Much like the fine answer already described, and with the possiblity of Tension Mysositis Syndrome, could be worse at night, like fibromyalgic pain.

It sounds like you're really having a hard time of it.... u really need to c a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis for u. In the meantime use compressive thermal therapy garments to sooth aching joints & improve circulation to help healing
