Question: I somehow injured my index index finger from opening up a tough juice bottle. it's not swolen but my finger ?

Is killing me? What could I have done to it? Should I just wait it out?(been about a week now) or go to the doctors? Have I torn a ligament or something? It just aches sometimes and I can bend it but it hurts more when my hands are cold, and occassionally when I bend it.

The metatarsals (tiny bones in hand) are easily damaged. However it sounds like you jarred a bone or tore a ligament. If it is swollen you can get anti inflammatory meds. The best bet is to follow the proven, old, faithful or R.I.C.E Rest, (don't use the finger too much if at all) Ice, (rest the index finger on an ice pack, or frozen peas if don't have pack) Compression, (strap the finger to your middle finger to keep it straight) Elevation, (when it's cold or aching don't hang it by your side, keep it up and elevated) Ok i hope that helps. Oh, stop trying to bend it to see if you can, that just aggravates it more.
