Question: I have really bad head aches and shooting pains in my lower abdomen? (Posted by: Lucie H on 2008-09-17 12:00:57) My name is Lucie and I'm a under the age of 14, about a year ago I started getting headaches about 2 times a week, then starting about a month ago I started getting them at least 5 times week, about a week and a half ago they started being constant and on a scale from one to ten, ten being the worst being pain ever they were about a 4 not to terrible and now I get these awful shooting pains that knock me to the floor and make me scream on top of of the constant headache every 5- 10 minuets. I also have sharp pain in my lower abdomen and an ovarian cyst on my left ovary I'm in so much pain I cant stand it. I also have acanthuses Nigricans sorry I'm not sure how to spell that, which is a dark ring around my neck and my armpits, and the inside of my thighs. The hair on my Legs and other hair growing areas that are not my head my head (if you catch my drift.) I'm being tested for Diabetes and pcos (Poly cystic ovarian syndrome.) And I had to go to the emergency room on Sunday my head aches were so bad, I was going to go last night but I didn't think they would do any thing useful, they have already done a ct scan which was fine. I have a doctor's appointment today at 4:00. My question is what do you think is wrong with me and if it is diabetes what type? Please help me I'm in so much pain. I have already seen a pediatrician and been to the emergency room and i have an appointment with a pediatrician again in like 2 hours. I also have an ovarian cyst. |

Posted by: Christy H on 2008-09-17, 12:08:24 Could be your back....you should ask about getting an MRI on your neck and back....you may have some a vertebrae out of place or something...that'll cause headaches and stomach pains. Each one of your vertebrae and the nerves that come off that vertebrae deal directly with some other part of your body. For instance, i damage my 4 and 5 vertebrates (neck) and those deal with your sinuses...which i have sinus problems. You can go to the chiropractor and view his spinal charge....it's really interesting. NEway...speak to your parents about seeing a chiropractor and getting an MRI and X-Rays of your back...it betcha it's has something to with your back. |

Posted by: tapout232006 on 2008-09-17, 12:10:44 Have they ever done a laperoscopy? It could be PID, or Endometriosis. A great deal of time, female organ problems will mimic the diabetes route. I know it isn't easy, just hang in there and they will get to the bottom of it. |

Posted by: Joni L on 2008-09-17, 12:16:56 I am so sorry that you are so young and in so much pain. It sounds to me like you have having problems with your female organs. There are so many different things that can be causing the sharp pains that you really need to go see a gynecologist. The headaches can be related to something else. Please keep all of your doctor's appointments and try to keep us updated. My best guess is PC OS, don't be scared, let the doctor's treat you as soon as possible. There is a slim possibility of bladder infection or UTI (urinary tract infection). Maybe even kidney stones or infection, but unlikely if it's in your abdomen. Again, I am so sorry you are hurting at such a young age. I hope the doctor's can help you. Honestly, diabetes does not cause this type of pain, so I'm thinking it is not related to your abdominal pains. Headaches, yes, abdominal pain, no. Good Luck, Please keep me informed: joni73@msn.com |

Posted by: Yogi on 2008-09-17, 12:33:24 Well having the ovarian cyst could be causeing the pain in your stomach because it has grown and is pushing on other parts as for the head thing, Best get what is called an MRI they might want to do a cat scan about the same thing just not as shard of pictures and it cost a little less. This could rule out the worst of thing or confrim them, I'd be looking for a tumor of some kind. I have had a total of seven of them and they would always ask me about my head if it hurt and how much and were. There are many kinds of them but in today's world of medic they can treat a many of them, in a number of ways. Good luck been down that rode way to man y times. Now just riding it out. |

Posted by: yahoogurl on 2008-09-17, 13:02:30 I'd see a Specialist that deals with "women " problems. not a gynecologist but like a Specialist that deals with JUST ovaries and POCS ( if there is one). good luck. Love, shae |
